Creating a Working Timesheet for All Employees
A manual working timesheet is a physical document that can be used as a tool for employees of a company as a tool to keep track of everyone’s working hours. Even though a digital timesheet can be easier to access by everyone, especially with the pandemic that is going around globally, some companies that have their employees coming into the office prefer to use an old-school way of keeping track of their employees manually. With a digital timesheet, you can opt to use software or a program like Microsoft Excel to help you in calculating employees’ working hours.
With a fingerprint or digital system for a timesheet, it is also more practical because they won’t break easily, and you cannot lose them easily either. If you think about it, purchasing a modern tool to keep track of the timesheet, can be quite expensive, which is why smaller companies, prefer to use the timesheet to be done the manual way. With many free templates and examples that are available online, keeping track of people’s working hours can still be done effectively too.
There are a few different types of the working timesheet that you can create depending on the payroll of the company. Some companies choose to pay their employees daily, weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly. Depending on the agreement of the management team, this can be the same situation for everyone. There are some circumstances where it might be different for some of the temporary or part-time workers in the company. When this is the case, they can be informed at the beginning of their work before they sign their work contract. They will have to agree to the working hours that are already set by the company. Usually, it will state on the work contract the time that they must come into work in the morning and the time when they can log off at the end of the day.

How to Manage and Organize Employee Timesheet
Managing a working timesheet is usually done by the HR department which in the end can be used by other departments like the finance department to help track employees’ working hours to calculate their salaries. If you want to create your timesheet, you can use a blank template and modify it to suit the needs of the company. Some of these templates have different formulas that can be useful to automatically calculate the total working hours and salaries that the company must pay to their employees.
In a construction business, for example, people might be working at different hours with the projects that they are doing. Using different timesheets for this situation can be appropriate to avoid miscalculation of everyone’s wages at the end of the day, week, or month. The timesheet, with the formulas that are already available from the template, can also be used to calculate the total amount of days of annual leave, sick leave, vacation days, and many more.
